Q1: I"m getting an error that says Windows Script Host, what did I do wrong?

A: You probably double-clicked index.js, which is not what you"re supposed to do. Follow the steps in the readme.

Q2: I followed all the steps but it didn"t work!

A: Did you leave the program running? Were you logged in when running the tool? If you answered no to any of these questions, that may be why. Either that, or Valve has patched it by the time you have tried this.

Q3: Can I use colors other than blue, green, grey, or gold?

A: There are different values on the steam servers that determine the colors of your profile. They correlate with your status (Offline, Online, In-Game). The gold value is a leftover from a holiday event a few years back. There might be other values for other colors, but we don"t know what those other values might be, if there even are any. If there are other values, however, you would have to modify the program to change those values and then re-compile it.

Q4: Will it work if I have Steam Guard enabled?

A: Yes. It will prompt you to put in the code.

Q5: This program looks fishy. It"s asking for my username and password!

A: Your login credentials are required for this to work, since the program will go in and change a value on the Steam servers to set your color to gold. If you want to create a dummy account to see if this actually works, feel free to do so. Furthermore, the program is open-source, so you can look at the code to see what it does.

Q6: Is there a way to permanently keep the color without keeping the program open?

A: No. If you don"t want to keep the program open on your computer, the only other way I can think of is to run it on another computer or a VPS. If Valve patches it or if the program were to close (i.e. computer crash, user closing the program, etc) then the color goes away.

Q7: Does the color stay if I go in-game?

A: Yes. As long as the program is still running.
